This last week of training was challenging, but I finally made it to recovery week. I LOVE my time on the mat and every time I go to hot yoga, I am reminded to show myself grace and gratitude. I am grateful for the ability to push my body to new limits on a daily basis…now it is time to show my body grace and allow my hard work to sink in with focus on recovery this week.
- I am thankful that my mind is strong and focused.
- I am thankful that I am happy and healthy.
- I credit my body for pushing hard through some challenging workouts and pushing to new limits.
- I respect my body’s physical and mental strength.
- I am grateful for the confidence I have in my abilities.
- I am grateful for my determination to be a better person and athlete.
- I credit my mental focus for my perseverance and fortitude, even during challenging times.
- I show my body grace by giving it what it wants and needs…good nutrition, good sleep, good people.
What are you thankful for? How do you show your body grace and gratitude?

Week #7 in the green 😉
Solid week! You are definitely waxing me… Love your perspective in this post. Keep rockin the good vibe.
Thanks Mike!! Sometimes it is harder to find what we are grateful for, and I feel it is super important to be mindful of it. Thanking our bodies when they fight hard allowing us to do what we love 😉
you’re welcome… and, maybe I will start feeling some soon since I just ordered that alarm clock you recommended!
Yay!! I love mine!! Let me know what you think 😉
Thank you Kecia!! I needed this today! I am going to show my body and mind grace by accepting my limitations (with Caiden’s health problems and resulting appointments and care responsibilites) and ABSOLUTELY CELEBRATING each mile, each minute that I can be doing what I love. I am grateful for the sun and the warmer temperatures today.
And I will celebrate all the wonderful, many wonderful people in my life who help me get there 🙂
You’re welcome Laura 🙂 It is important for us all to remember to show ourselves grace and gratitude from time to time. Celebrate like there’s no tomorrow!! You go girl 😉
So thankful my body is healthy enough to allow me to abuse it by running marathons 🙂 I try to take care of it the best I can while resisting the urge to pick at what I look like while I’m doing the sport I love. This is such a great reminder to live in grace and gratitude. Sometimes it can make all the difference! What alarm clock are you talking about?!
Taking care of our bodies is essential for us to be able to beat them up in training and racing. I have an alarm clock that lights up instead of waking me up to the radio or beeping noises. It definitely helps me get up in a less grumpy mood and helps get me up and moving 😉 Here is the link to it:

Such a good reminder! Right now, I’m dealing with an injury (boo!), but I try to be thankful for the fact that I can still be active and can continue to train and that I’m really quite fortunate.
Kristina…we all struggle from time to time, especially when we are injured. I wish you quick and full recovery 😉
Great week! I might have just picked up a sweet, light road bike for free and hope I can get it sized to fit me. This summer some long bike rides may be in my future 🙂
Thanks Amy!! Yay on the bike 😉 I can’t wait to hear how it works out for you!!
Congrats on a strong week – I’m super impressed by the variety in there, too (II def need more strength and yoga in the mix). Excited to follow along on your journey to IMWI!
Thanks so much!! For me, variety is key. I do much better when I have variety in my training. It will be a great journey 🙂
Gratitude for today, nearly 70 and NO POLLEN! WOOOOO!!!! 14 mile bike ride then doing work on the porch. ENJOYING the sun after a miserable stretch of 5 weeks of winter.
I am now going to have to go back and find out about that alarm clock that mike referred to. . .
I would have loved for 70 degrees, although I can’t complain for 50 🙂 I am hoping to enjoy one more nice day before we get hit again on Thursday…
I LOVE my alarm clock…it brings a much more natural way to wake up 🙂
Beautiful, inspiring post!
Thank you 🙂
