“Don’t Worry, Be Happy”

I recently decided to take the 100 happy days challenge and started documenting what makes me happy each day through pictures.  Looking back over the last month to see what I deem to be “happy” caused me to notice some themes…

  1. Exercise…no surprise there   IMG_3320
  2. Puppy Love…our girls know how to put a smile on my face   IMG_3321
  3. Food…goes hand-in-hand with exercise in my book   IMG_3323
  4. Nature…getting outside after a rather brutal winter has been wonderful                         IMG_3322
  5. The Iron Hippie…yes he does know how to put a smile on my face from time to time 🙂  Most of our time together is spent working out during IRONMAN training…we often times refer to these workouts as dates 😉IMG_3326

What makes you happy?  Are you taking the 100 happy days challenge?  If so, what themes have you noticed?

Week 17: 14 hours & 34 minutes

Swim:  4800 yards

Bike:  35.7 miles

Run:  18.3 miles

Brick:  50.6 miles

Strength Training:  2 hours & 15 minutes

Hot Yoga: 2 hours & 30 minutes

I missed my first scheduled workout (a run) since December 30, 2013 this week.  I figure if I only miss one scheduled workout every 4 months, that is a pretty good streak 😉

  1. I love following people’s ‘100 happy days’ through Instagram. It is interesting to see common themes. I’m pretty sure my themes would be the same as your’s: exercise, dog, hubby, and food!
That’s a solid week of training, and I love that you’ve been able to move most of it outside now!

    1. Thanks Abby!! I LOVE that we are getting outside more now as well!! There is nothing better than fresh air, vitamin D via sunlight, exercise and time with the dogs and the spouse 🙂 Ahhh…life is good 😉

    1. It is definitely fun to look back at what are my “happy” moments on any given day. It is also a great reminder that I should always be focused on those things that make me happy and not get bogged down with the negative aspects of each day. If you decide to join, let me know. I would love to follow you 🙂 I’m on instagram…keciapf if you would like to follow me.

  2. Dates… LOL! I was going to try to come up with something witty about long rides into the sunset until I realized that’s exactly how I look at riding with my wife. Nice. 😉

    1. I love how our relationship revolves around “long rides into the sunset.” We are happier, healthier and it will hopefully prolong our lives to continue to take “long rides into the sunset” at a very old age. I’m glad our relationship isn’t the only one that has “dates” in the saddle 😉

  3. Your happy days thus far look a lot like mine – exercise, food, scenery, cycling, pet, and hubby. I can’t wait to see what the end result looks like. P.S. Great week of training *high five*

  4. Another great training week! I rarely miss a work out either and I missed a swim last week. I just didn’t want to do it but I was also using the excuse that I was still recovering from Big Sur! 🙂
Great pics! Great themes! Mine are similar…Triathlon, desserts, travelling, Dan. I can’t wait for summer when it gets nice out all.of.the.time!

    1. I agree Leslie…it will be awesome when it is warm out all of the time. While I don’t mind riding in the afternoon, on the weekends it would be nice to get up and just roll. Right now it is still very cool out and thus we typically wait til noon. Thanks Leslie!!

  5. Our happy days are so similar! Exercise, good real food, nature, our main squeezes. Puppies are also on my list, but we don’t have one… yet. But, we are getting one after IMWI, and I cannot wait! Happy sunny Friday!

    1. With similar interests, it is too bad we don’t live closer. You will definitely LOVE having a puppy added to your family/household. It has been a while since we’ve seen the sun…I’m super thankful for it and hope it sticks around throughout the coming weekend!! Have a great 3 day weekend 🙂
