I successfully completed all workouts this week, but was very tired…not the tired from working out either. Here is how my week unfolded…
Monday:
Monday morning I completed an hour of strength training…

After work I came home to a Barnana delivery…A-MAZ-ING!! This will be perfect training fuel.
I also completed my #FaveWorkout of the week…#bikelove and #intervals…nothing better π
Tuesday:
I started the day with an early morning run…boy did my legs feel like lead after last night’s #bikelove #intervals. It was a good thing that this was an easy endurance run.
After work, I jumped in the pool for some #swimlove.
Wednesday:
We did fartleks on the bike to start the day..everyone that rode with us picked a different duration (between 1 and 5 minutes) to incorporate some Z4/Z5 work. It was fun to have variety in the workout and not know what was coming next π
After work, I went to the pool for some #swimlove before babysitting for some friends for a couple of hours.
Thursday:
I started my day with some #runlove…HOLY #intervals.Β These were tough!! I tapped into TRJ’s energy…#gonetoosoon
After work, I went to the dentist…clean teeth and no cavities π I followed this up with TRX, which was a great full body workout. I incorporated all of the exercises that each of my participants don’t like while we are doing them, but appreciate when we are done. That made for good variety and some challenging moves π
Friday:
I had the day off from work, so I could meet with my doctor regarding my hypothyroidism diagnosis and to determine what would come next. Before I went to the doctor, I got the oil changed in my car and cleaned up the house a bit. I will have more to post about my diagnosis and the decisions that were made later this week. After my doctor appointment, I had lunch with a friend, took a short nap, and went for a massage…OUCH!!
We met some friends for dinner…I LOVE SUSHI!! YUMMY π
Saturday:
We rose early in the morning for a 2 hour run, but the windchills were WELL below 0F, so we opted for the treadmill. 13 miles later, I was ready for some core strength exercises, which we followed up with some VERY tasty breakfast.
After cleaning up, we ventured down to Ankeny and Des Moines for a few items…

Sunday:
5 friends loaded up in our vehicle at 6:30 am and drove to Waverly for a swim clinic from 9 am to 1 pm, so we didn’t get our long Sunday morning bike workout in. We postponed that for today after work.
The swim clinic was great!! I learned what I am doing well and what I have to work on to be more efficient in the water…boy do I have some work to do π

Weekly Totals:
Swim: 5900 yards
Bike: 32.7 miles
Run: 26.1 miles
Strength Training: 2 hours and 15 minuts
Total Time: 14:33:00
What was your week like?
Sushi and a massage on the same day?!?!? That’s what I am talking about!
Glad you have a new Garmin! I know you were frustrated with your other one not working consistently. Good job of getting in all your workouts despite the fatigue you are dealing with!
I know right?!?!?!?! Sushi and massage were great!!
Thanks, Lee…I’ll post an update soon on the outcome of my doctor’s visit from Friday. I’m super excited to give my new Garmin a workout today π
So awesome that you rocked all that training despite health issues! Way to go!
Thanks! It was a tough week, but hopefully they will start to get easier soon π
Wow-what a week! Great job-I’m just catching up on what you’ve been up to. I’ve been a bit busy drinking margaritas and second-hand smoking. My fingers are crossed for good results about the thyroid issue.
Thanks Amy! I’m so glad you had fun π
I will get a post out this week regarding the thyroid. I’m hoping to see improvements over the next couple of weeks π
Such a productive week! Love it! And SUSHI yum!!!
Thanks Jessie!! π I LOVE sushi!!
Great job, lady!!! Wow, what a week! Do you have a new 910 or is that a 920? I love my 910. I wish I could use all the features π Crazy to think you need help on the swim – I am so dreading my clinic this weekend!!! Have a great week and stay warm!!!!!!
Thanks Kelli! I got the 910…I just couldn’t justify the extra $200 for the 920. I wish we had a masters swim program around here that I could attend, but I’m not willing to drive 1 hour each way for 1 hour of swimming. I hope you have a good clinic and a great week!!
I haven’t heard why the 920 is better so I assume the 910 will be great. Like I said, I love mine. We are having pool shortage issues here so I can’t even get into a pool here right now without a good size wait. Grrrr. Wish I could open water swim! Or something!
Sorry to hear that!! Pool issues are the worst!! I hope it gets better soon!!
Great week! Props to you for doing 13 miles on a treadmill! My longest treadmill run ever was only 9 miles and that was a test of my mental strength. I could never do 13!
Thanks Courtney!! My longest was 19 π
i can’t believe you did 13 on the death mill…Beast!!!! Awesome that you got a new Garmin you will love it!!!!
My week was good…lots of running to finish out my Ragnar training with some good final bike miles too because we re-test in a week!! π
While 13 on the mill is a lot, I’ve actually run 19 when training for a winter marathon. Never again π
CRAZY! π
I just ordered some barnana:) can’t wait until it arrives! So sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I hope you get find the solution you’re looking for. I’m sure it has been very frustrating for you… awesome about the swim clinic! My swim clinic in November helped me BIG time and I have seem lots of improvements. I’m sure you will see the same! Thinking happy thoughts for you my friend:)
Thanks Kristin!! I definitely love Barnana!! Placing another order Friday π
I’ll have an update today or tomorrow on the diagnosis. Hopefully everything settled out soon and I find a new normal π
