Dream Season

“The most powerful weapon on Earth is the human soul on fire.” ~Ferdinand Foch

The off season is the perfect time for dreaming! This is the time when I’m not exercising as much, so I have LOTS WAY TOO MUCH time to dream about what is to come! One thing is for sure…triathlon lights my fire! I’ve been dreaming of the coming year…2017 is the year I turn 40! The year I have my heart set on fun! The year I will push my limits to overcome challenges! The year I will push my limits to get closer to making my Kona qualifying dream come true! The year we go on another racecation! 40 is going to be my year! I’m excited to get this year started! It is time to start filling my barn with hay so that I can light a massive fire on race day!

Dreaming is easy…how will I turn these dreams into reality? Believing in myself, my abilities, my training, and my new coach! Yes, that’s right! I’m super excited to have Kelly Hardiaris coaching me in 2017! With her expertise, guidance, support, and encouragement, I am hoping to have the best year ever! I’m ready to embark on this journey with Kelly and see where we can go together in 2017!

  1. I’m excited for 2017 :)) congrats on finding a coach! Also I love the energy of this post – that whole first paragraph was so contagious lol thx kecia ❤ looking forward to killing it in 2017 just like You!

  2. Kecia, take that screen cap of your registration off the post. Anyone could pick up your packet with that. It’s highly unlikely, granted, it’s not like a cheater couldn’t be tracked down on the course, but it makes sense to not tempt fate.

      1. Great point! I didn’t think about that. I’ve heard horror stories about people who post their bib numbers on line so I figured that the registration was a natural extension. 😉

  3. So excited to follow your IMMT journey and be your teammate! I signed up for my first 70.3–>Maine, so that’s my big exciting goal for 2017! It’s going to be a great year 🙂

  4. Congratulations on selecting a coach 🙂 I’m sure with the help of a great coach, you’ll achieve big things next year and I’m looking forward to following along.

I’m excited about 2017 as well-I turn 40 too! My dreams are only for an olympic tri or aquabike if my knees aren’t up to running, but I’m excited about letting go of the fears I’ve been carrying with me for far too long. I’m not going to half-ass anything, but commit to the hard work needed to cross the finish line.

  5. Thanks Amy! So fun that you’ll turn 40 next year also!! 2017 is going to be fun! I’m excited for you and the season ahead! It will be fun to follow your journey!!

  6. So exciting that you decided on a coach. I know that was a big decision. Just a curiosity question…did you consider any coaches that were local to you? Just wondering about the logistics of someone that is not in the same community as you and the pros and cons. I am certain that was a factor in your decision making process.

As always….looking forward to following your next journey!

    1. I did think about a local coach, but the closest one that I trust to get me where I want to go is still about a 90 minute drive from us, so it isn’t exactly local. I’m excited to see where I can go with Kelly’s guidance, support, and motivation!

  7. Congrats on making your coach decision! It’s tough. I, too, was in the position of searching for a new coach for 2017. I initially wanted someone who was somewhat more local, but once I talked to the person upon whom I finally decided, I threw out that criterion because the ‘fit’ seemed right.
Good luck was you return to a more set schedule as you look to IMMT. I’ve heard such great things about that course – how fun!

    1. Thanks Kristina!! The “fit” definitely feels right, and I’m excited for 2017! I too have heard great things about IMMT! I wish you the best for 2017 and your journey with your coach!
