12 weeks ’til Ironman Boulder

Time has FLOWN by so fast!! It seems like it was just October and we were registering for IMBoulder and now we are only 12 weeks away!!

This week was a recovery week that didn’t include a much working out. There was very little #sbrlove this week, but it gave me an opportunity to get A LOT of other things done that have been neglected lately.

Swim: Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Bike: 26 miles…It was such a beautiful day on Saturday, we just went for a nice and easy trail ride.


Run: 3 miles…I guess it is more than none 😉

Strength Training: 45 minute TRX class that was mostly all core work

Bonus Accomplishments:

  • I deep cleaned our entire house…moving all the furniture to clean under, over and around everything. It feels so good to have a super clean house again!!
  • I put all my winter clothes away…and wouldn’t you know we are suppose to have lows in the upper 30s this week…GO FIGURE 😦
  • I got a lot of shopping done to restock everything…cosmetics, groceries, household items, sports nutrition, mental preparation (books), new slip covers, etc.
  • I have lesson plans done through the rest of the school year (only 11 more days with students…13 total), grading complete and tests, study guides, etc. written.

Workout Totals: 3 hours…unless you consider deep cleaning the house to be exercise, then you can add another 9 hours 😉

My #FaveWorkout – Week 22

This week I had many #FaveWorkouts this week…it was full of #sbrlove. I decided to go with Tuesday morning’s run. The Iron Hippie, Basil and I set out at 4:30 am for our 90 minute run that included 6 x 0.3 mile hill repeats. It was a VERY cool morning for April in Iowa, but thankfully we hadn’t put our winter running gear away just yet. We ran ~20 minutes to warm up before beginning the hill repeats. While running down and up our 0.3 mile long hill, we saw a fox, multiple birds, many rabbits and a couple of squirrels. Basil was in retriever heaven…if only she were off leash, then she would have been even happier. After running our 6 hill repeats, we finished off our run by running around town. Finishing as the sun comes up is the #perfectstarttotheday 🙂
